Visual identity & design for a platform of social & cultural exchange, bringing East London’s creative network together with artists designers and local communities.
Precinct is a platform for social and cultural exchange, bringing East London’s creative network together with artists, designers and local communities. Precinct pushes an unorthodox exhibition programme and calendar of events.
Responsible for the visual identity, the scope of works covered the design of all spatial, printed and digital items. The principle idea behind the identity is that of space and the gallery’s multifaceted use of it.
The use of dynamic positive and negative space are the basic building blocks of any artistic visual work and is reflected in the application of this idea in the visual identity. Each new event generates a new graphic identity based on this simple idea to supply rigour and consistency across all items.
A bespoke sans serif typeface and sister stencil typeface were created for typographic and environmental applications. A branded framework around key applications project the characteristics of the organisation and the concept of space.
